Internet Addresser and continue to use Internet Addresser after a
30-day trial period, you must register the software. This registration
fee will license one copy of Internet Addresser for use on any one
computer Bulletin Board System at any time. You must treat this
software just like a book. IE. - Only one person may use it at a time.
You are encouraged to pass a copy of Internet Addresser along to your
friends for evaluation. Please encourage them to register their copy
if they find that they can use it.
The registration form is in the REGISTER.DOC file.

What is Internet Addresser?
_________________________________________▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
The UUCP Version of Internet Addresser allows your users to
easily and flawlessly enter Internet eMail messages. The version
requires that you use an Internet Provider AND you use an Internet
Mail processor such as wcGate.
IAUUCP is a menu driven message addresser for internet mail.
Your users do not have to enter the destination internet address as
the first line of text, IAUUCP does that for them! They just enter
the address, then, using the Wildcat Internal Message editor, type
their message. IAUUCP takes care of the addressing!
Your users will also have access to a Public Internet Address
Database. They can add Addresses, search using boolean logic, or get a
list of the entire database. The evaluation version of IAUUCP is
limited to 10 database entries in the Public Database.
The Registered version also has a PERSONAL Internet Address
book each user! The evaluation version has one for the sysop only.
These personal Address books store up to 11 addresses per user with
a comment field. Addresses in the Personal Address books can be written
to directly from the address book, no need to continually enter the
same address over and over again!

Installation
_________________________________________▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
If you are installing IAUUCP for the first time, or you are upgrading
from Version 2.0 follow these directions. If you are upgrading from
Version 1.x you must delete all files with the extension *.abo in
your UserDatapath as pointed to in Makewild. The format of the
Address Books has changed and there is no conversion from v1.0 to
v.3.0. Then follow these directions.
1) Unarchive IAUUCP3.* into its own directory, for purposes of
demonstration we'll say it's C:\WILDCAT\IAUUCP
MD C:\WILDCAT\IAUUCP
PKUNZIP IAUUCP3.ZIP C:\WILDCAT\IAUUCP
Then move all files with the *.prm and *.asc extensions to your
prompt directory. By default it is the ..\LANGUAGE directory
under your Wildcat home directory. Unless you have changed it,
this is where they belong. The *.prm and *.asc are the prompt
files for the program, they can be configured to your taste.
2) Changed to the Wildcat Directory and run the Makemenu program.
If you are upgrading just change your old Internet Addresser
menu option to point to the new IAUUCP3.WCX. Save and Exit.
If you are installing for the first time create a new menu
option that runs a WCX program and point it to IAUUCP3.WCX
3) Logon to your BBS (You must logon as the Sysop named in Makewild,
or as a user with MASTER Sysop status), and run the program.
IAUUCP will sense that it is not configured and will start the
CyberWare Installer. You will be prompted for some information:
You must know:
Your INTERNET EMAIL Conference Number
3) After the configuration, if everything went well, you should
be given a confirmation message and dropped back to the BBS.
(This is so that the new configuration is correctly read into
Memory). Start the program again try IAUUCP!
NOTE: THE IAUUCP.CFG FILE IS *NOT* DESIGNED TO BE EDITED FROM DOS
IF YOU EVER NEED TO RECONFIGURE INADD CHOOSE [R]ECONFIGURE
FROM THE MAIN MENU, OR DELETE THE FILE IAUUCP.CFG AND RUN
THE PROGRAM AGAIN.
Internet Addresser has an internal Help screen. If you do
not like the internal screen you can write you own. If IAUUCP finds
a file called 'INADD.HLP' in the Internet Addresser Home directory
it will display this file instead of it's internal help routines,
when a user requests help.

Address Database/Books
_________________________________________▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
The Public Database
The PUBLIC internet address database can store up to 10
addresses in the unregistered evaluation version, and up to 5000 in
the registered version. The database is fully indexed and supports
boolean searches. For example if you wanted to find all addresses
in the database that belong to an author OR that belong to an
actor you can specify this for you search query:
AUTHOR OR ACTOR
This will list all entries that have the words Author OR Actor in them.
If you wanted a list of all Authors but not any author with the name
Kevin then your search query would be:
AUTHOR AND NOT KEVIN
This will list all entries with the word Author in it, but not the
ones that also have the name Kevin in them.
All database files, and indexes are stored in your Wildcat home
directory with the file names of PUBLIC.ADO, PUBLIC.IX1, and PUBLIC.IX2
The Personal Address Books
The Personal Address Books differ from the Public Database
in that the Personal Books are not searchable, they are what they
sound like, Books. Each user (in the registered version) has a
personal address book in which to store up to 11 Internet Addresses.
The evaluation (unregistered) copy allows for the Sysop to have an
address book (with 5 entries) to determine the functionality of the
product.
The Personal Address Books store 11 Internet Addresses and
they have a field in which the user may write the name of the person
or entity associated with each address.
All personal address books are stored in the UserDataPath
as pointed to in Makewild. File naming structures are:
<userid#>.abo
(Example: User id #1's address book is called 1.abo).
